Patrick Sweeney is an Irish woodturner and carver, who crafts locally sourced fallen trees while being consciously committed to sustainability and replanting. Giving trees a second life as functioning and fine art forms from the forest floor. Rooted in Ireland, shaped by nature by his hands.

Patrick Sweeney Woodcrafts is the work of an Irish artisan dedicated to preserving the beauty, strength and story held within native wood. Working with Irish hardwoods — often damaged, diseased and storm-felled.
Patrick gives each piece a second life. What nature has shaped over decades is carefully turned, carved and finished by hand, revealing grain patterns and textures that cannot be replicated or rushed. This is not mass production. It is patience, craft and respect for material. 

Over 30 Years at the Lathe with decades of experience in woodturning and carving, Patrick has developed a deep understanding of timber  in his style, how it moves, how it speaks, and how it holds history within its rings. Each piece is individually handcrafted in Ireland using traditional techniques and a careful eye for form and balance. No two pieces are ever identical because no two trees are ever the same. The Circle of Life Wood carries memory. From root to branch, from growth to fall, it tells a story of time and continuity.

Many of Patrick’s works are inspired by this natural cycle, the unbroken circle that connects generations. For those living abroad, carrying Ireland in their hearts, these pieces serve as something more than décor. They are reminders of heritage., of home, of roots that endure wherever life leads. Sustainable, natural, and meaningful, every piece begins with respect for the material. By working with locally sourced Irish hardwoods, often reclaimed or naturally fallen, the craft honours both tradition and sustainability.
